Why choose WP Depo?

We believe in the open source community and believe that WordPress should be available to all. Unfortunately premium plugin and theme authors refuse to decouple support from the code, they won’t set regional price differences and they rarely offer discounts to students, low waged or the young. We are providing a third way by redistributing the code without any unneeded extras.

How many sites can I use the plugin or theme on?

As many as you like. The plugins and themes are GPL licenced so you can use them as often as you like on as many sites as you like. Got a friend who’s building a site? Go share them with your friend. Seriously, there are no catches.

How can you offer the products at such low prices?

All WordPress items such as plugins and themes are licensed under the General Public Licence (GPL). This means that once we have purchased the item we are free to redistribute it if we choose to do so.

Your membership to our site goes towards maintaining and buying the subscriptions to 3rd party theme and plugin authors. This form of crowd funding helps keep prices low and we can then pass this benefit on to you. Our about us page explains things in more detail.

How long does a membership last?

We currently offer monthly and annual subscriptions. The longer you subscribe the bigger the discount we can offer. You can currently save 45% by choosing an annual subscription over a monthly plan. You can see more detail on our plans and pricing page.

Is support included?

No. If you require technical support regarding a plugin or theme then you will need to either purchase the product directly from the author (a link is provided) or you will need to hire a freelancer to take a look for you. Alternatively you could ask around some of the helpful WordPress community forums.

Not offering support is the way in which we are able to offer the products at the discounted price.

Are there any restrictions on the number of downloads?

Unfortunately, we’ve had to take another look at this because we felt the fair use policy was being abused. The limit is 20 downloads per day.

Are these genuine products?

Yes, 100%. We have active subscriptions for the products featured on our website. We download from them and redistribute to you. The downloads are not altered in any way.

Can I keep the plugins/themes after my subscription has ended?

Sure. Under the GPL licence you’re free to keep them if you want. The only thing to be aware of is that if you want access to any future updates then you’ll need to have an active subscription with us.

Do you provide updates to the products?

Yes. As soon as we are notified about an update, we go and download it and update it on our site. We write all changes on the changelog page, and we share it at the top of our site for your information.

Can I get a refund?

No. Sorry we’re going to have to be a little hard on this one. The nature of digital media means that once you have downloaded a plugin or theme there’s really no way to return it. If you think you might have some doubts then why not just subscribe for a month before committing to a longer subscription?

Can I get a plugin or theme via your site?

If it’s GPL then we can try! Drop us a line using our contact form and let us know which item you would like adding to our depot. We try and bring new items into the site each month based on how many users are requesting the item. Look forward to hearing from you.

How do I contact you to report a trademark/copyright violation?

Because all items are GPL licenced it’s extremely unlikely there is one. Also, we only use the names of products nominatively as a way of identifying one item from another and clearly emphasise on our website that no items on this site are endorsed or sponsored by any trade mark holder. Nonetheless, please use our contact form to highlight any concerns and we’ll be happy to work with you.

An item I downloaded is asking for a registration code. What to do?

Ignore it. Developers include these so that the plugin or theme can update automatically or so that you can register for support. The item itself will work perfectly fine without anything being entered in the box. We would recommend updating your theme/plugins manually when updates become available on our site.

Can I cancel anytime?

Of course. You’re not locked into anything. You can cancel your subscription by logging into the members area and visiting the subscriptions link. If you have any problems then let us know and we’ll be happy to cancel it for you. No questions asked.

Can I upgrade from a monthly to annual subscription and will it cost me more?

Yes, you can upgrade at any time. We understand that you might want to give us a try before committing to a longer subscription. Just send us an email at the end of your first month and we’ll send you a discount code to use that will reimburse you for the month you have just paid for when upgrading.

Can I use a download manager?

We would recommend that you do NOT use a download manager to download files. Download managers send multiple requests and create multiple connections to the server in a short space of time. The server has no way of knowing that the traffic is generated by software and so each request will count as a download and may result in you exceeding any download limits that are in place.
